Effectiveness of using educational technology

Educational Technology helps the learners to develop, improve and advance their abilities, capabilities and skills through the use of different technologies like computer hardware, overhead projectors, etc. It is beneficial in the part of the learners because it will help them to explore things and broaden their knowledge about the issues, facts, opinions and realities of the world. It is also serves as an instructional materials of a teacher to indulge advance learning to the students and make the teaching-learning process more enjoyable and excitement.


I have interview Mary Joy Bareo, a BEED IV graduating student and taking up a Practicum in Teaching course. We have talked about the uses and importances of Educational Technology in teaching. I have asked her some questions regarding this topic. And these are the questions: Did you use a technology in your demonstration? What are these technologies? No, I didn't used any kind of technologies but I have used the low-tech ones. These are the pictures I have downloaded through the Internet. Is there any Educational Technologies that are available in the school? Yes, they have. The school is provided with computer laboratories and a multi-media room which is use when they are having their film-viewing. Overhead projector is also available in the administrative office. We can borrow it if we want to use it. How did the pictures you used helps you in your classroom instruction? It contributed a lot for the success of my demonstration. I didn't have a hard time to describe the different kinds of pollution. I provided them with pictures and explained something about it. It also served as a motivation for the students and reduced the abstraction of my topic. They easily visualized and described what I am taking about. If I used more high-tech ones, maybe I can provide them more advance and broaden knowledge of my topic.
